About the Maker

Hi! I’m Tracy. I am a first generation Chinese-American born and raised in the Bay Area, California. I fell in love with embroidered felt crafts because working with thread and felt shapes reminded me of both my grandparents’ handicraft hobbies; my grandmother knitted and crocheted and my grandfather created collages from stamps. My mother majored in Asian literature and I incorporated her knowledge of Chinese literary traditions and poetry.

Inspired by my culture and the generations of makers before me, I created Pentaflora Threads to gift those I love with something handmade that was delightful, comforting, and expressed my well-wishes with warmth and sincerity. My designs combine my love for soft and colorful felt crafts with ancient Chinese traditions of blessing phrases, perfume sachets, and embroidery.
